Jan. 16, Lviv’s court of appeals heard witnesses in an assassination attempt case at Shuvar market director Roman Fedyshyn, one of the defendants’ lawyers, Natalia Krisman, told the ZIK.

The first to take the witness stand was Yaroslav Ananko, the market’s administrator, whom the defendants named as the contractor of the assassination attempt. Next, the court heard Oleh Horonovsky, accused of manufacturing a bomb that exploded under Fedyshyn’s car and killed a girl nearby.

Unlike Ya. Ananko, who flatly denied the accusations, Oleh Horonovsky admitted his guilt, saying he was very sorry for the death of a girl.

Jan. 17, the court will continue its hearings of six more witnesses, among them Myroslav Bokalo whose wife is one of the market’s owners and a sister of Hanna Herman, a renowned lawmaker and Regions party member.
