Major projects by foreign investors in Lviv oblast: Lysynychi housing project, MAN truck plant and car plant

Following a request by the European Business Association (Western Ukrainian branch), Lviv oblast Governor Mykola Kmit named three largest investment projects, except for the Euro-2012 one, to be implemented in the oblast. Number 1 is a housing development project in Lysynychi worth 1.5 billion euro. “My deputy reports on the project every two weeks,” Kmit says.
Number 2 project is a plant to assemble MAN trucks in Mostyska.
According to Kmit, Lviv oblast is competing in a tender to build a car-manufacturing plant offering employment to 8,000. “Four other countries are vying for the project, with Lviv oblast the only one representing Ukraine,” Governor Kmit added.
Other investment projects include the construction of a coal mine in the Sokal rayon and switching cement production to dry technology in at Mykolayiv cement plant.
