Yushchenko believes the Odesa-Brody pipeline will make an important chain in the proposed Euro-Asian oil-pumping corridor and, as part of it, will enhance Ukraine’s energy security. The work group is to make proposals on switching the oil flow already in 2008.

At present, the Odesa-Brody is used by the Russian oil companies to pump oil to the oil terminal in Pidenny, near Odesa.
