Lviv oblast council deputy and member of Our Ukraine Lviv oblast branch political board Emilia Podlyashetska has resigned from OU, much to the surprise of her colleagues, OU deputy Oles Starovoit told ZIK June 20.According to O. Starovoit, he was frustrated by the resignation, saying E. Podlyashetska has been an efficient lawmaker and had good working relationships with colleagues. She stopped showing to OU political board meeting some time ago.
According to ZIK sources, the lawmaker was invited to join the United Center, reportedly a Viktor Baloha’s brainchild whose oblast convention is scheduled for June 21 in Lviv.

E. Podlyashetska joined the Batkivshchyna party in 2001.
In October 2005 she resigned from the party and joined NUNS, saying she could not work effectively in Batkivshchyna as it was not the kind of party she had originally joined. “I will join the party that initiated the Maidan. There are many in NUNS who can support me,” she stressed, saying that Batkivshchyna Lviv branch head Ivan Denkovych expelled all those who were active on the Maidan in 2004.
