Moscow mayor bankrolls separatism in Crimea, lawmaker Parubij claims

A 34-million dollar grant for pro-Russian organizations in Crimea announced by Moscow Mayor Luzhkov poses a threat to Ukraine’s national security. It is another indication of the fact that pro-Russian forces on the peninsula are inspired and funded by Moscow, VR lawmaker Andry Parubij said, commenting on Luzhkov’s declaration of financial support for Crimean organizations.“Taking into account anti-Ukrainian rhetoric in Luzhkov’s numerous statements, it is not difficult to predict that the money will go to support separatist organizations and to fan anti-NATO hysteria. This is an example of a blatant interference in domestic affairs of Ukraine, something Ukraine law-enforcement should investigate,” the lawmaker added.
