“According to my information, Tymoshenko is currently abroad. Had she been in Ukraine, she wouldn't have skipped such a lucrative chance at scoring political points for herself as the session of the National Defense and Security Council's session. This is not her style,” political expert Volodymyr Tsybulko said, commenting to ZIK the presidential secretariat statement that Yulia Tymoshenko had not received any invitations to take part in the NDSC session.

“Tymoshenko is Russia's new project for Ukraine. It's a long-time project, and the Russians waited patiently for the opportunity to launch it. Now the Russians have put their cards on the table. Note how Viktor Yanukovych began to be nervous because he doesn't find a place for himself in any of the current scenarios,” the expert opined.

The absence of Tymoshenko, the expert added, is proof that she is not an independent political player, that she is on the Russian hook.

The Ukrainian president, Viktor Yushchenko, has signed into law the NDSC decision of Aug 13, imposing terms for crossing the Ukrainian border for Russia Black Sea Fleet vessels and planes.

Same day, deputy head of the presidential secretariat Oleksandr Shlapak said the NDSC took the decision in a 12-2 vote by its members, with Premier Tymoshenko and Interior Minister Lutsenko voting against.

Meanwhile, Aug 13 the secretariat stated that Yulia Tymoshenko had not been extended any invitations to attend the NDSC session.
