Presidential secretariat accuses Tymoshenko of high treason and political corruption
Deputy head of the presidential secretariat Andry Kyslynsky said he has information that the Russian leaders are bent of backing Yulia Tymoshenko in the presidential election – if she takes a passive stand regarding the conflict in S Ossetia, the Aug 18 secretariat’s press release runs.

According to Kyslynsky, Viktor Medvedchuk will run Yulia Tymoshenko’s presidential campaign from a center created in Moscow. The center also includes Serhy Kliuyev, Grigory Surkis and Oleksandr Zadorozhnyj. Humanitarian projects will be supervised in Ukraine by Dmytro Tabachnyk. So far, $1 bn has been earmarked to run the Tymoshenko’s campaign, he claims.

“Last week we stated that we have information about Yulia Tymoshenko’s intensive work in the interests of Russia. Unfortunately, this information is true. Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko has crossed the point of no return. Because of this, she has her hands tied and has no room for maneuver in the conflict of Russia with Georgia,” the official claimed.

According to Kyslynsky, Tymoshenko campaigning has already got under way, with the backing from Ukrainian industrial-financial groups that were involved in the pro-Russian campaigning back in 2004. “During her recent stay in Sardinia, Tymoshenko tried to rally the politicians eager to stage a comeback. They are headed by Viktor Medvedchuk. Recently, the team was joined by former president Leonid Kuchma who flew to Sardinia– at the personal request from Tymoshenko,” Kyslynsky said.

The presidential secretariat will submit the incriminating information to prosecutors, the official declared. “Ukrainians are entitled to hear the truth about the sell-out of politicians who crossed the line of political struggle and indulge in open betrayal of national interests,” Kyslynsky declared.

    • I think Ukraine must utilize its financial resources to invest in projects that provide jobs for Ukrainians. Buying weapos from EU or USA will not bring any benefit. No-one is going to invade Ukraine because no-one is interested in harming Ukraine. Russian will be happy to continue good relations as well as EU. Do not buy weapons because that money can be use for Ukrainians and not for military-industrial complexes from other countries. Even if Ukraine buys 10 Bn in armaments it will not render any benefit for the Ukrainian people. If I were Ukrainian, I would vote for Tymoshenko, for she is not promoting a hysteric athmosphere in your beautiful country.

    • I'm surprised a proud and independent nation like Ukraine, wanting and now having its independence, is choosing allready for years to join a failed NATO alliance and become part of a fierce agressive military block with clear gloabl expansion goals. Why you cant be INDEPENDENT and have good relations with both EU and Russia??
Also..what is a definition of Democracy, when western leaders, my own leaders , and media, support a Ukraine NATO membership allready for years, WHEN OVER 70% OF YOUR DEMOCRATIC POPULATION does NOT find this necessary?
You loose as Ukraine not just respect from the democratic people in EU, ..this is not what a democratic nation should do.
Unless you think it's right a western funded president of your country offers Ukrainian boys up to start a war against Russia on behalf of good-od Brezinsky, destroying EU and Russian territory, and have our american friends, like before, sell us the weapons with big profits and ca$h in, while you and Europe is ripped apart, and your 'friedns' sit safe in american continant and divide and rule the world as undemocratic as you will enver read in massmedia..Wait and see..
Europe is perfectly capable to work togetehr, east and west, without relentlees pressure from other continents and cynical powergames, passed through over corrupt and short-sighted politicians like Milliband & Co.
(ps: I'm a western, democratic and free dutch citizen who studied political science in Amsterdam).

    • All Ukranians who care about their freedom, and their hard won independance, should resist Russia's massively funded effort to subvert Ukranian democracy. Russia will spend massive amounts of petro-dollars, and undertake any kind of fraud or criminal action in order to achieve a Ukrainian government under their control.
