BYUT demonstrates another party mouthpiece, Taras Voznyak says

BYUT Mykola Tomenko’s critical comments on NUNS demands for coalition talks indicate the appearance of another BYUT mouthpiece in addition to Yulia Tymoshenko. Bashing NUNS demands, Tomenko was playing out Putin’s, not Tymoshenko’s, scenario for Ukraine, political expert and “I” journal editor Taras Voznyak told ZIK Sept. 22.“In case of preterm elections, voter may fail to show up at voting stations, and it will be their assessment of the activities of Ukrainian parties,” he said.
There won’t be any newcomers in Verkhovna Rada, but a coalition will be formed. The Party of Regions will gain and BYUT will lose ground, he opined.
Comment by ZIK
We opt for a democratic coalition in VR, not the one hatched up by the United States, was the Sept. 22 comment by BYUT leader Mykola Tomenko in the wake of the publication by NUNS of its conditions on which it can enter the coalition with BYUT.
The major points of NUNS conditions, Tomenko stresses, are speedy accession to NATO, condemnation of Russia and support for Georgia.
“It goes without saying that for the Ukrainian parliament the main objectives should be protection of national interests, higher living standards and prosperity of Ukraine, not concern about geopolitical interests of other countries. We get the impression that we are proposed to create a coalition in the US legislature, not the Ukrainian one,” Tomenko said.
