Tymoshenko and Yanukovych are like lovers: they loathe marriage but spend every night together

Presidential administration deputy chief of staff Andry Kyslynsky says the incumbent will accept any format of a coalition in VR because this is the only way politicians can be held accountable for Ukraine’s social and economic development. In his opinion, BYUT and the Party of Regions should sign a formal marriage contract and stop their 4-week backstage deals to which the whole country has been witness, the presidential website reports Sept. 26.“If we assume that Yulia Tymoshenko has back-tracked on her position and on the implementation of the Kremlyn-orchestrated scenario as well as is sincerely eager to restore the democratic coalition, we cannot waste any minute and BYUT must prove (by accepting a joint agenda in VR and by joint voting) the sincerity of its declarations,” Kyslynsky noted.
The official stressed that, no matter which of the two scenarios is implemented, Yulia Tymoshenko has the final say in forming or axing a new coalition. At present, he continued, it seems that Yulia Tymoshenko is wavering between the two options. As a result, Ukraine has become hostage to premier’s unhealthy ambitions that push Ukraine toward snap elections, Kyslynsky claimed.
“As we have warned, the intensity of loud declarations by BYUT chiefs about their eagerness to create a coalition with NUNS and the Lytvyn bloc went berserk in the last couple of days. But the facts testify to the contrary: the efforts of BYUT to look for support outside Ukraine have picked up. This week, BYUT wheeled out its big gun, Viktor Medvedchuk, who went to Moscow to prepare for the visit by Tymoshenko. Medvedchuk went to Russia to convince the Kremlyn about the readiness of BYUT and Party of Regions to join forces, proving it by their joint voting on the bill on civil servants which, in fact, will give the official status to the Russian language.
The Russians, however, are in no hurry to see Tymoshenko in Moscow, apparently expecting new guarantees from Tymoshenko that she is prepared to meet her commitments.
It should be noted that YuliaTymoshenko skipped a direct answer when asked by journalists Sept. 25 about her allegedly close cooperation with the odious political figure [Medvedchuk]. Such kind of behavior only raises suspicions among Ukrainians that leading Ukrainian lawmakers have become Moscow’s cat’s paws in Ukraine,” Kyslynsky warned.
