The resignation of Yushchenko’s chief of staff Viktor Baloha is quite possible. There are 2 likely successors, Vira Ulyanchenko or Valentyn Nalyvajchenko, political expert and advisor to Viktor Baloha Volodymyr Tsybulko told ZIK Oct. 27.The expert believes that the main reason for Baloha’s dismissal is that the president’s office has moved into lower gear. “The president feels that work must be stepped up and be made more efficiently,” says Tsybulko.
If the incumbent puts his money on active international activities, Nalyvajchenko will be his choice. If, however, the goal of the president’s office is to search for domestic balance in the country and create a bridgehead for the next elections, Vira Ulyanchenko will fit the job best,” Volodymyr Tsybulko opined.
V. Tsybulko admitted the possibility to form a new coalition in VR without snap elections. “In this case, political forces will have to make serious concessions to reach a compromise. Such a coalition will be effective and made up of professionals. The contours of such a coalition can be seen now. It’s Our Ukraine, the Lytvyn bloc and the Party of regions,” the expert noted.
