Rural voters to support BYUT, city voters to support Yatseniuk, poll says

Amid expectations of snap elections approval ratings of political parties increased insignificantly in comparison with September Sotsinform polls, with Svoboda becoming the largest earner (up 3.3%).The opinion poll was conducted by the Sotsinform Oct. 1-12 in Ukraine’s five Western oblasts, the center’s director Olexy Antypovych told ZIK Oct. 28.
Almost half of respondents who would vote support BYUT (45.1%). Our Ukraine has a 10.5% support, with the Yatseniuk bloc at 9.9% and Svoboda at 9.3%.
A 3% threshold will be cleared by the Party of Regions (4.2%), Self-Defense (3.5%, and Lytvyn’s People’s party, 3.3%. The Communist got 1.7% support, the Ukrainian People’s party 0.9% and the Socialists 0.7%.
BYUT has the largest support among the residents of oblasts Lviv, Volyn and Rivne. Our Ukraine and the Yatseniuk bloc has the most support in oblasts Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Interestingly, while BYUT and OU is supported by the rural population, the Yatseniuk bloc and Svoboda enjoy most of their support in the cities of Western Ukraine.
