Former Speaker Yatseniuk dreams of returning as premier, says Volodymyr Fesenko

Yatseniouk dreams of returning to big politics as premier, Penta think tank director Volodymyr Fesenko says. “I got the boot only to return. I’ll return but not to VR,” this is how Yatesniuk commented on his dismissal to a ZIK correspondent.

“Yatseniuk has a good potential as a politician. However, his career will depend on how well he will make the best of the present situation and his own potential,” Fesenko noted.

The speaker dismissal is an attempt to change the direction in which the ongoing crisis develops. “At the start of the week there was a glimmer of hope that the coalition between BYUT and NUNS could be revived. It also seemed that the VR would focus on anti-crisis legislation. However, this week lawmakers concentrated on political issues like speaker dismissal, snap elections and a new anti-Tymoshenko coalition, Fesenko said.

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Ivan Pliushch and Adam Martyniuk are the hot favorites for a speaker’s seat, Fesenko predicted.
