Premier Yulia Tymoshenko is to meet with her Russian counterpart in late April, she said in a press conference in Dnipropetrovsk on Apr. 10. The agreement was reached in a telephone conversation Tymoshenko had with Premier Putin Apr. 9.“We have discussed the agenda for the coming session of Ukraine-Russia economic committee. The committee will sit in late April,” she added.
One of the issues discussed with Putin was cooperation in the space sector, she said. “The cabinet has passed a resolution today which unblocks Ukraine-Russia cooperation in the highly profitable space sector.”
Modernization of Ukraine’s gas-pumping system was also discussed. “I think, the existing tension has been removed and we can continue successful cooperation,” Yulia Tymoshenko declared.
Recall that Russia unilaterally rescheduled for indefinite time its consultations with the Ukrainian government, following the signing by Ukraine and EU on March 23 of the Gas Declaration to modernize Ukraine’s gas pipelines.
