By-passing tenders, Hajduk and Taruta-affiliated companies walk away with contracts to build stadiums in Lviv and Kyiv, Inna Bohoslovska says

Bending the law and by-passing tender requirements, business companies affiliated to Vitaly Hajduk and Taruta grabbed all the contracts to build Euro-2012 stadiums in Lviv and Kyiv, presidential contender Inna Bohoslovska said on June 5 speaking live on the Inter channel.Inna Bohoslovska has recently resigned from the Party of Regions faction in Verkhovna Rada, saying she is opposed to the growing impact of business groups on party policies. She also said the recent abortive coalition talks between BYUT and PR were initiated by tycoons affiliated to both parties. The coalition talks were in fact, a conspiracy of big business, she claimed, as even PR political board members were not in the know about the talks.
The main business groups inside the PR are those of Andry Kliuyev and Rinat Akhmetov. The coalition talks with BYUT were actively supported by these business groups, Bohoslovska continued.
As regards BYUT, I’ll tell you something as withholding the truth is immoral. The Industrial Union of Donbas, whose owners are Hajduk and Taruta, carries a lot of weight in BYUT. It is not represented in VR but its members hold important positions in the cabinet. Their businesses have illegally grabbed lucrative contracts to build stadiums in Kyiv and Lviv, she said.
Criminal investigations should be opened against these companies bogged down in glaring corruption. Representatives of these companies go with the premier on her foreign trips. The cabinet turned a blind eye when these business groups failed to pay 400 mln hryvnia for gas supplies, while other companies had their gas supplies cut off. Same privileges exist for the Finansy i kredit bank which got favorable bail-out terms from the cabinet, the lawmaker added.
